Salvatore Cincotti is an Italian-Swiss entrepreneur and executive with four decades of experience across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and diagnostics industries. Since June 2026 he has been General Manager of IBSA Group, the Switzerland-based international pharmaceutical company.

His career has been shaped by entrepreneurship, industrial development and technology transfer. As founder and CEO of Altergon, he built the company around advanced pharmaceutical and biotechnology platforms — ultrapure hyaluronic acid, transdermal delivery systems, orodispersible films and prefilled syringes — starting from a start-up and growing it into a patent-holding centre of excellence. As CEO of Technogenetics, he led the immunodiagnostics business through its acquisition by the Chinese group Shanghai Kehua Bio-Engineering.

He has worked in close collaboration with universities and research centres throughout, with a consistent focus on turning scientific innovation into scalable industrial capability. That conviction also led him to co-found MATERIAS, the Italian venture dedicated to bringing advanced-materials research to market, with former innovation minister and CNR chairman Luigi Nicolais.

He has operated in China since 1985, founding two IBSA-owned production sites in Shandong province and holding operational roles in Shanghai.

His perspective combines science, manufacturing, entrepreneurship and international deployment. Within the Club des Sentinelles, he brings a rare understanding of how an innovation becomes an industrial capability and, ultimately, a product able to compete globally.
